*Seven Devils Playwrights Conference is dedicated to the development of new American plays from the playwrights' perspective. The Conference is modeled on the world-renowned National Playwrights Conference at the Eugene O'Neill Center in Waterford Connecticut , but also includes elements unique to Seven Devils, most notably: the inclusion of student and community artists who work hand-in-hand with their professional counterparts and a mentorship program for student playwrights, actors, directors and stage managers.

Playwrights selected for the Conference are invited to spend two weeks in McCall, Idaho writing, re-writing, rehearsing and presenting fully staged readings of their plays with a talented company of directors and actors. In addition to four plays selected from submissions from across the country, four plays by McCall/Donnelly High School students are chosen to take part in the Conference. Student playwrights are mentored by professional playwrights. Each step in our process is designed to give the playwrights new and deeper insights into their work, and to give audience members and fellow artists a deeper understanding of the playwright's craft.

Seven Devils Playwrights Conference is grateful to receive support from the A.K. Starr Charitable Trust and the Idaho Commission on the Arts , and many generous individuals, as well as in-kind support from The Alpine Playhouse, Bistro45, Hotel McCall, The McCall Store, The Drama Bookshop, The McCall Arts & Humanities Council, McCall Donnelly High School, Mint Theater Company, Mountain Cycle, NY Theater Experience Publishing, Lumbermen's Building Supply. Thanks to all our supporters, and to the open-hearted people of McCall , Idaho.
