Each June, since 2001, theater artists from around the country have gathered in the rural, mountain community of McCall, Idaho (except in 2020 and 2021 when we convened online) for the Seven Devils Playwrights Conference.
Now in its 23rd year, the Conference has developed and presented over 250 new American plays by emerging artists, local high school students, prize winning professionals and everything in between; and has offered free playwriting workshops led by some of the most exciting voices in the American theater including Elaine Romero, Samuel D. Hunter, Adam Rapp, Robert Schenkkan, Lee Blessing, Richard Dresser, Eugene Lee, Sherry Kramer, Jeni Mahoney, Caridad Svich, John Olive, Eric Coble and Kara Lee Corthron. Thanks in great part to our longstanding partnership with McCall's Alpine Playhouse, all Conference events are open to the public at all times and offered free of charge including fully-staged readings, seated readings, workshops and even rehearsals. |
